Job Summary:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and register patients according to established protocols
- Assist patients to complete all forms and documentation including medical insurance
- Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
- Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
- Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records
- Move patients through appointments as scheduled
- Answer incoming calls and assist with inquiries
- Schedule patient appointments
- Collect payments
- Consistent review of physician schedules, with minimal reschedules
- Obtain external medical reports and maintain patient records as required by medical professionals
- Respond and comply with requests for information
- Register patients with copay assistance foundations
- Maintain a clean and neat reception area
- Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Strong interpersonal customer service skills, including effective listening, clear verbal and written communication, problem solving skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to practice locations – not just 1 location.
- Ability to master multiple software systems to input and retrieve data
- Ability to master ophthalmology and retina terminology
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience in a medical practice
- Bilingual – Spanish
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person and via telephone
- Frequent use of computer terminal to read and write
- Frequent bending, reaching, sitting, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, pushing, and pulling
- Lifting up to 10lbs

- Work location may vary
- Monday – Friday schedule, and may volunteer to work weekend clinic when offered
- Hourly pay (FLSA non-exempt, eligible for overtime)
- Travel to NC Retina locations
