Job Description
General Summary
The employee will assist in managing the Debit Card Fraud Program at Bank Independent. Their duties will include activities that detect and prevent possible debit card and deposit fraud. This employee will also be cross trained in other areas of the Security Team and complete any other duties as assigned by the VP Security.
The employee will be expected to display a positive attitude and flexibility in accepting varied work assignments. The employee has access to extremely sensitive information and confidential data and is expected to exercise professionalism and confidentiality in all relevant matters.
Essential Functions
- Receive and process Reg E disputes
- Review Reg E dispute reports
- Contact customers to research Reg E disputes
- Monitor deposit accounts for fraudulent activities
- Monitor and report debit card fraud trends
- Balance and run adjustments to GL account
- Security Admin support for program applications that are managed by Security Team
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the VP Security and or Security Manager
Working Conditions
- Generally good, with little exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, dust or other adverse factors.
- Ability to deal with adverse and stressful working conditions in a professional manner
- Overnight travel maybe required
Minimum Level of Preparation and Training
- College degree preferred
- Minimum of three years banking experience preferred
- Branch or Customer Service Experience preferred
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- Time management, decision making, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications of Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of bank’s core software system
- Ability to have access to and deal with highly confidential information in a discretionary manner
- Ability to work closely with Security Team
- Maintain confidentiality
