We are seeking an embedded Design Engineer to help us demonstrate new and creative signal processing concepts, continuously improving on the state of the art. As a FPGA/Digital Design Engineer...
- Your primary responsibility will be digital design for embedded systems and implementation in HDL, such as VHDL
- You will implement sophisticated signal processing algorithms for communication and radio navigation signals
- You will take ownership of the design and integration of embedded systems with sensors
- You will perform system-level design of signal collection and tracking systems
- You will test and demonstrate systems in live field tests
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other relevant technical field and 5+ years of relevant experience
- Have significant experience working with HDL development and embedded design
- Are comfortable with implementing HDL for systems-on-a-chip or for FPGAs in systems with or without microcontrollers and performing design verification
- Have strong communication skills and effectively connect with technical team members and leaders
- Have good organizational skills and an ability to multi-task
- Are willing to lead small project teams of similarly qualified engineers
- Are willing and able to support travel of an average of three weeks per year
- Are able to obtain a Secret security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have...
- Have an M.S. in Electrical or Computer engineering
- Understand alternatives to HDL in FPGA development, such as HDL Coder or Xilinx System Generator
- Have experience designing for Software Defined Radios (SDR) or with digital or mixed signal board designs
- Have a solid understanding of GPS processing systems, Inertial Measurement Units or other navigation technologies
- Have experience with embedded software
- Are familiar with continuous integration and similar development practices
- Are proficient with digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms
