SUMMARY: As a Restaurant Food Runner in our hotel, you will play a vital role in supporting the restaurant's operations by facilitating the efficient delivery of food and beverages to guests' tables. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that orders are accurately prepared and promptly delivered to guests, enhancing their dining experience, and contributing to overall guest satisfaction. You will work closely with the kitchen and serving staff to maintain smooth service flow and uphold the hotel's standards of hospitality and service excellence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Collaborate with the kitchen staff to coordinate the preparation and plating of food orders, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards.
• Communicate with the serving staff to prioritize orders and facilitate timely delivery to guests' tables.
• Retrieve completed food and beverage orders from the kitchen and verify accuracy before delivery.
• Deliver food and beverages to guests' tables promptly and courteously, ensuring that all items are presented in accordance with the hotel's standards.
• Assist in clearing and resetting tables as needed, removing used dishes and utensils to maintain a clean and organized dining environment.
• Communicate effectively with the serving staff and kitchen team to address any discrepancies or special requests from guests.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to any additional requests or concerns, seeking assistance from the serving staff or management as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the restaurant service areas, including the kitchen and staging areas.
• Assist in restocking supplies and inventory as needed, including condiments, utensils, and beverages.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper food handling and storage practices, to ensure the health and well-being of guests and staff.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Assist other restaurant and kitchen team members as necessary.
• Perform other related services and duties as assigned by supervisor and management.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality role, preferably as a Food Runner or server assistant.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and serving staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure, maintaining professionalism and courtesy while delivering exceptional service.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and carry trays of food and beverages for extended periods.
• Professional appearance and demeanor, with a focus on providing attentive service to enhance the guest experience.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and carry trays of food & beverages for extended periods in indoor conditions and temperatures.
• Certification in responsible food & alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe, food handling, etc.).
• Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as required.
