Food Production Associate

Marinko's Desserts is a raw, gluten-free, plant-based San Francisco Bay Area company that is the future of the dessert industry.

We are looking for one food preparation worker for our production facility in Berkeley, CA. This position pays $23-30 per hour, with possibilities for promotions and incentives for hard workers.

Current work times are Wednesday 1pm - 5pm and Friday 9am-6pm. Hours may increase as the months go by.

As we are a startup, this position is perfect for those looking to join at the ground floor. There will be many opportunities for advancement in the months ahead, including becoming Head Chef.

FYI There is no cooking involved, as we are a RAW plant-based dessert company.

Responsibilities:

• Completing all tasks in order on the prep list provided by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
• Washing, chopping, sorting, and dehydrating ingredients like fruits, nuts, and seeds.
• Measuring quantities of fruits, nuts, and other superfoods.
• Labelling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves.
• Ensuring kitchen cleanliness, including waste duties and sanitation.
• Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards.
• Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order supplies.
• Besides a salary of $23-30/hr (depending on experience)we will have incentives and bonuses for the right person.

Requirements:

• Early morning person with energy and enthusiasm.
• Physical capacity to stand for numerous hours.
• Comfortable with some manual labor and able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Familiar with vegan/gluten-free diet and food.
• Strong passion for local, seasonal, and organic food.
• Strong organizational skills and attention-to-detail.
• A team player with excellent communication skills.
• Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
