POSITION SUMMARY:
The Floral Designer's responsibilities include advising customers on suitable floral arrangement selections, and beginning-to-end floral production, including but not limited to floral processing and plant maintenance. To be successful as a Floral Designer at Hive, the ideal candidate should be team-oriented, uphold design versatility, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergent trends within the floral design industry.

- Communicate and assist clientele with in-store floral requests via phone or email, following through until delivery.
- Complete the client experience with an accurate and efficient checkout.
- Ensures floral design production is in alignment with Hive’s standard of excellence.
- Advising customers on the proper care and maintenance of their selected floral arrangements or plants.
- Ensuring all flowers and plants are properly watered and stored to prevent premature wilting, botanical diseases, or pest infections.
- We are selecting and arranging flowers following Hive’s brand standards.
- Help maintain an adequate supply of wires, foams, ribbons, tapes, and other decorative supplies as delegated.
- Ordering fresh flowers from wholesalers and growers as delegated.
- Maintaining an accurate record of floral arrangement orders, special requests, and delivery information as delegated.
- Consult with clients to determine their preferences and specifications before designing customized floral arrangements.
- Lead event processes from beginning to end as delegated
- Demonstrate ability to ideate simple to complex event details
- Closing of clientele concept pitches
- Creation of digital on-brand mood boards
- Production of event floral and supply list that is on budget and in project scope
- Collaborate with in-store interior designers on special projects as delegated.
- Assist with keeping all workspaces clean, safe, and organized. Including but not limited to cleaning buckets, floral boxes, trash breakdown, and recycling.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum (4) years of experience in the floral industry
- Minimum (3) years of experience in the customer service, or retail industry
- Proven floral design experience supplied by portfolio
- Floral design certifications are advantageous
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Continuous hand manipulation including grasping, pushing, pulling, and exemplary skills
- Reaching above the head and at shoulder level
- Ability to stand/walk/bend/kneel for extended periods on hard surfaces (concrete and brick)
- Exposure to extreme temperatures throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items, up to 50lbs while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques
- Ability to maneuver effectively around floor, warehouse, and cash wrap
- Ability to accurately judge color values
- Must be able to work effectively where dust, pollen, and particulates are present
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.07 - $22.00 per hour
