Floor Manager

Discovery Land Company is seeking an experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support our high profile Summit location in Las Vegas, NV. The Assistant Food& Beverage Manager will assist in leading the food and beverage team to provide the highest level of service to members and guests through training, development, and refinement of skills while fostering a cooperative working culture to maximize productivity and employee morale and operating within budget to ensure the financial success of the department. A strong work ethic and a calm demeanor are essential to success with our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of the food and beverage team including scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management and ensure the team is providing the highest level of service to members / guests through inspection, training, and coaching
• Assist with any member or guest issues/concerns in a professional and courteous manner
• Uphold the company’s commitment to superior food and beverage and hospitality, work with all food and beverage staff to adhere to exemplary service standards
• Set the tempo and tone of daily service: anticipate VIPs and special events, regularly review house counts and forecasts, organize restaurant and make preparations for daily cover counts; communicate this information to employees via daily line-ups and pre-shifts
• Continuously create and implement new ideas for training and development of F&B staff
• Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale
• Ensure all cleaning schedules, temperature records, opening/closing checklists are completed and recorded daily
• Monitor inventory levels through regular inventory checks
• Ensure restaurant equipment is properly handled and maintained by all staff
• Champion a clean and safe work environment by ensuring all safety, health, and food handling standards are followed

Skills and Qualifications

• At least three years’ food and beverage experience in high volume luxury resorts / private clubs or fine dining establishments with previous role(s) in a leadership capacity
• College degree in hospitality management is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State of Nevada Safety Certificate
• Highly knowledgeable in wines and beverage
• Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and shifts greater than eight (8) hours in length
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than four (4) hours, and lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling
