Manager, Floor Plan Design (Hybrid)

The Manager, Floor Plan will manage the Floor Plan drafting team, and provide creative and technical expertise on the layout, design, and detail of the convention floor, lobby areas, show management and special events both locally and nationally.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Manage the day-to-day workflow of the Floor Plan drafting team.

• Review and approve Floor Plan team timecards, PTO, and expense reports.

• Assess and maintain show assignments for designers.

• Oversee Helpscout to make sure that all rush requests and questions submitted are handled in a timely manner.

• Manage the recruiting process of reviewing resumes, interviewing, and training new Floor Plan design hires.

• Keep track of new or updated facilities and maintain an up to date database for facilities used across the country.

• Maintain and update Floor Plan department SOPs and libraries.

• Oversee the permitting process for the fire marshal to ensure that all Floor Plans are up to code and permitted.

• Work with team to manage up to date CAD programs and equipment needs.

• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years industry experience

• Client interfacing/management skills, both verbal and written

• Organizational skills and problem-solving skills

• Understanding of space usage and requirements

• Completion of a formal drafting program preferred.

• Required working experience with the following programs:

• Autodesk AutoCAD

• Expocad

• Adobe Creative

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook, Teams) & WebEx

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with groups.

• Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet deadlines; some night and weekend hours may be required.
