Job Overview
Primoris Industrial & Civil is looking for an experienced Fleet Manager. The office location is flexible, can either be Houston or our Baton Rouge office. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years' experience in fleet and equipment operations. They would be able to develop and ensure implantation of preventive maintenance and repair programs for all equipment, in a timely manner.
JOB SUMMARY
The Equipment Manager evaluates life cycle and ownership costs of assets making recommendations based on forecasted needs. Develops and ensures implementation of preventive maintenance and repair programs. Ensures all Equipment processes are followed, and all management systems are updated timely and accurately. Familiar with a variety of the field operations’ concepts, practices, and work procedures. Interacts with senior levels of Operations Management and coordinates and communicates about support from the Equipment Department.
JOB DUTIES
- Interact with Equipment leadership to fill needs identified by Operations.
- Develop and maintain adequate equipment pools to see that quick operational and project requirements can be met when needed.
- Evaluate and Maintain equipment utilization.
- Meet and Equipment Vendors and negotiate rental rate structures.
- Ensure systems are updated timely and accurately and that equipment assignments are always accurate.
- Oversee shop processes that ensure all Fleet assets are properly maintained at appropriate intervals.
- Evaluate repair activities and makes decisions on whether corrective action is the best decision considering the ownership status, book value / lease life remaining, cost, etc.
- Optimize expenditures on staff, maintenance, equipment repairs and purchases.
- Responsible for compliance to all Company policies and practices as well as any government regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- At least 5 years’ experience in fleet and equipment operations, preferable in the utility construction space.
- Sound knowledge of computer software such as Access, Excel, JD Edwards.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
