Lonestar Electric Supply and its subsidiaries are looking for a Fleet Manager who will be responsible for the entire life cycle of all vehicles within the region’s fleet, including fleet budget planning, managing acquisition and preparation, title and registration, repairs and maintenance, telematics, fuel, and termination/decommission. This role will work directly with the designated fleet contact in each location across Texas and must be extremely focused on the need to deliver, constantly improving quality and efficiencies within the overall fleet management strategy. The Fleet Manager plays a vital role in executing the company’s driving and fleet safety policy, providing a variety of reporting and guidance on driver performance, and behavior.
Responsibilities
- Actively manage fleet volume levels, communicating with Operations Leadership, Fleet Leadership and the Fleet Management Company constantly to ensure levels are in line with hiring and replacement needs while maintaining an appropriate fleet utilization.
- Develops schedules and procedures for and ensures adherence to routine maintenance and non-routine repairs of all vehicles in the company’s fleet.
- Coordinate and ensure all pre-rollout vehicle preparation is done timely and to company specifications (graphics, shelving, telematics, etc.).
- Liaise with all Fleet partners, ensuring on time, quality work is being performed communicating to management immediately when deadlines or quality fails.
- Take ownership of all vehicle incident/accident management, ensuring protocols are followed and insurance/repair partners are informed and engaged in the repair or settlement process.
- Develops and enforces procedures, policies, and safety protocols for all fleet services staff.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting on driver telematic performance, past due vehicle maintenances, recall information, and related safety data.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly equipped with current tags, registrations, toll devices, fuel cards, etc.
- Ensure driving lists, MVR reporting, insurance eligibility, and related data processing is performed timely and accurately.
- Hold vendors consistently accountable for work or deliveries that are substandard, defective, not to specification, or late.
- Proactively and concisely source new vendor relationships and drive process improvement projects that can enhance performance, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Manage Vehicle Pipeline reporting, keeping accurate, real time data sets on vehicle status, expected deliveries, and supply chain issues.
Requirements
- Travel to various worksites, vendors, and vehicle locations across Texas.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations and D.O.T. standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to make quick, cogent decisions in time sensitive situations.
- Highly independent thinking with stellar judgement.
- Mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn.
- Ability to prepare and adhere to a budget and monitor and reduce expenses.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite of Apps including strong Excel skills.
- Must have strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
