Fleet Manager

Although the business has and continues to expand rapidly, the brand is still family-owned and home-based out of the NYC metro area. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fleet Manager to oversee and optimize our company's vehicle operations. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring their efficient use, maintenance, and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record in optimizing fleet performance.

Essential Functions

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet operations, including vehicle utilization, fuel efficiency, and overall cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze data and trends to make informed decisions regarding fleet size, composition, and deployment.
• Coordinate regular maintenance schedules and repairs for all vehicles to ensure they are in excellent working condition.
• Establish relationships with service providers and negotiate maintenance contracts to minimize costs.
• Stay current with local, state, and federal regulations related to fleet operations and ensure all vehicles comply with safety and environmental standards.
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records for all vehicles, including licenses, permits, and inspections.
• Supervise and lead a team of fleet personnel, including mechanics, drivers, and administrative staff.
• Ensure compliance of the company with government regulations that have to do with the transportation industry
• Take preventive measure to ensure safety of vehicles and drivers too
• Make sure vehicles are always ready and available to meet orders by scheduling and monitoring current trends in the industry, so as to enable forecasts
• Make sure that all vehicles are properly registered; carry out inspection on regular basis Take part in different workshops and/or programs to keep up with new trend in the industry
• Conduct regular training sessions to ensure all team members are well-versed in safety procedures and best practices.
• Develop and manage the fleet budget, tracking expenses, and identifying areas for cost savings.
• Implement cost-control measures without compromising the quality and reliability of the fleet.
• Explore and implement technology solutions, such as fleet management software and telematics, to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
• Identify and assess potential risks associated with fleet operations and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.

• Develop and enforce safety policies to reduce accidents and improve driver behavior.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field. A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
• 5 years working experience in fleet management, with a track record of optimizing operations and reducing costs.
• A level 3 fleet management certification
• Strong knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair procedures.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of fleet management software and other relevant technologies.
• Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
