Fl Farm Shop Assistant Laborer

Provides administrative/clerical assistance to the shop supervisor.

• Change and Repair tires
• Check and maintain batteries on equipment and vehicles
• Lubricate Farm Equipment
• Clean and/or replace air filters
• Fuel vehicles and equipment
• Perform light mechanical work on pick-up trucks
• Mow grass and maintain the property around the shop area
• Report equipment problems to supervisor or manager

• Previous shop/mechanical experience preferred.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

• Requires successful completion of a drug screening and company physical
• Requires ability to understand oral and written instructions with ability to convey ideas and information relating to the assigned task
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
• Must be able to understand and work with basic math problems
• Must be able to understand simple diagrams
• Requires ability to follow directions from a supervisor
• Requires ability to interact effectively with co-workers
• Requires ability to understand and comply with posted work rules and procedures
• Requires ability to accept constructive criticism

• No supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.)

• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
• Requires ability to lift amounts weighing up to 50 lbs and carry over short distances

• Majority of work is performed in the shop
• Work requires exposure to all temperature and weather extremes, loud noises, moving equipment, wetness, dust, fumes.
• Requires working around fuels, oil, paints, lubricants, solvents and various other products located in the shop.

Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate with others.

Must be able to accept corrective criticism from supervisor.

Must be willing to take on a variety of assignments as assigned by management on an as-needed basis within the department and within other areas of King Ranch if necessary.
