The Fixed Income Trader will be a critical member of the trading team, focusing on the Fixed Income trading effort across cash and government-related markets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Executing investment decisions, investing client assets, and managing account cash and duration
- Communicating verbally and in writing with other traders, research analysts, portfolio managers and policy committee members, providing updates on market developments and trade execution
- Monitoring valuation and fundamental parameters of government and cash markets to identify potential investment ideas and inform portfolio decision making
- Modeling portfolio cash flows consistent with client guidelines and portfolio targets across mandates
- Coordinating with operational departments to achieve efficient trade execution and compliance including security set-up and allocation
- Developing expertise with systems for trading and analysis, including Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, and Charles River
- Developing and managing broker-dealer relationships
Candidates should have:
- 5+ years of financial market work experience, with experience trading governments and/or Cash Instruments strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree with an excellent academic record
- Experience and/or a demonstrated interest in investment analysis and the investment business
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team-oriented environment
- Time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently
- Experience in adjacent and/or relevant markets a plus (e.g. derivatives, interest rates, credit)
- Initiative and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Quantitative and analytical skills, including strong Excel knowledge (BQL, data analysis tools, VBA, etc.)
- Experience with Order Management System workflows (Charles River, etc.)
- Strong Bloomberg knowledge and familiarity with various Electronic Communications Networks
- CFA designation or established interest in obtaining the CFA designation
The salary range for this position is $155k - $185k.
The listed pay scale denotes only the pay range of the base salary and does not include discretionary bonus compensation, which may make up an important portion of the total remuneration.
