INTERNAL APPLICANTS WILL BE GIVEN FIRST CONSIDERATION PURSUANT TO A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
Under supervision of the Finance Manager, is responsible for processing all payments received from customers for water and sewer related services, ensuring proper accounting for said receipts and proper bank deposits of monies received.
WORKING HOURS: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
Duties/Responsibilities
Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.
Processes all account payments received via mail, accepted at the payment window and via web, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and fax. Maintains a professional manner when interacting with both internal and external customers. Complies with workplace health and safety standards: wears required personal protective equipment; promptly report unsafe conditions; complies with all departmental, county, state federal policies/procedures/regulations and laws.
Maintains accurate balance and control of all cash on hand; maintains accurate balance of all deposits and credit card transactions; prepares monthly cash receipts and deposit spreadsheets.
Assures proper credit is applied to each established fund and prepares bank deposits accordingly.
Balances totals received from billing stubs and cash received; prepares accurate summary of all monies received (e.g., billing stubs, over-the-counter collections, water/sewer tap-in fees, etc.).
Processes and receipts monies taken from tap-in permits, Lab, Environmental Services, Finance Department and through the office; sorts into proper fund categories.
Performs others duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.); 3 yrs. of accounting/bookkeeping experience; 2 yrs. of word processing/computer (with math capabilities) experience or equivalent training; valid Ohio Driver's License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
VISUAL ACQUITY:
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
SEDENTARY WORK:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
