Under the general direction of the Fiscal Program's (FP) Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) Specialist is responsible for monitoring and coordinating projects generated by the FP, and represents the CFO on a day-to-day, as well as special project basis. The SSM I Specialist functions as a management consultant, preparing, planning, coordinating, and monitoring difficult and sensitive program development and policy issues utilizing strong analytical and management skills. The SSMI Specialist assists the CFO as a Project Leader in implementing the FP's strategic initiatives that relate to budgeting, estimating, accounting, financial reporting and administration.
The FP team is a group of highly motivated individuals that work collaboratively to accomplish the goals of DHCS and the FP while striving for improvement of administrative processes within our Divisions. By joining the FP team as a project leader, you will spearhead these efforts by keeping work and goals of the FP organized and in one place, to improve team effectiveness, increase efficiency and align with departmental communication standards.

Working Conditions
This position is located in the East End Complex (EEC) across the street from the California State Capitol Park and the Rose Garden. The EEC is walking distance to public transportation and near various eateries.
This is position is eligible for telework.
Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200 - 14203 for employees residing in California.
Should the incumbent need to report to an office, they will need to report to DHCS office location: 1501 Capitol Ave. Sacramento, CA 95814.
