Summary
About the Position: Located at 412TH MDG Edwards Air Force Base, Edwards AFB, CA 93524.The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo).

Duties
  • Perform administrative work in support of the 412th Medical Group Uniform Business Office (UBO) encompassing Third Party Collections, Medical Affirmative Claims, and Medical Services Account programs.
  • Provide consultation to group, wing, and command level working groups and committees, as well as, to flight, Squadron, and Group Commanders.
  • Interpret guidelines, adapt procedures, decide, approach and resolve specific problems for assignments that affect the overall operations of the Uniform Business Office.
  • Audit and maintain Medical Service Account {MSA) general accounts.
  • Reconcile the cash funds and account receivables daily and monthly, examines supporting documents, ensures accounting data are accurate and In balance and confirms appropriate information Is documented in the automated system.
  • Analyze and examine accounting data for proper maintenance of accounts. Ensure funds are managed within allowable constraints and to ensure there are no violations of laws.
  • Perform duties relating to the Medical Affirmative Claims (MAC) program.
  • Serve as facility point of contact for all actions associated with Third Party Collection (TPC) Program contract.
  • Provide a technical interface between the Program Office and other organizations involved in the contract process.
  • Prepare standard operating procedures to support revisions.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • Must obtain and maintain Financial Management Certification Level 1.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
  • Initial and periodic tests/immunizations required for all employees include Tuberculin Skin Test (TST/PPD), Varicella (chicken pox), measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Hepatitis B, Seasonal Influenza, tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap).
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: examining and reconciling accounting data and preparing reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NK-02).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
