Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
  • Coordinates and processes transactions into a computerized database which includes credit card purchases, contracts, general obligations, and purchase requests;
  • Handles all closing actions and reconciliation of various accounts;
  • Serves as primary requisitions specialist;
  • Monitors timely delivery of all supply and equipment orders;
  • Manages grants from outside sources, reimbursable accounts, and general post fund donations;
  • Obtains cost summary reports from partnering agency and evaluates funds available for agreements and contractual requirements;
  • Maintains the payroll database;
  • Provides accurate salary projections that are essential to financial planning;
  • Assures funds are available to cover personnel/employees, work hours, etc.;
  • Assists in preparing periodic and annual financial reports;
  • Responds to inquiries and concerns;
  • Performs other related duties

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm

NOTE: This is a TERMappointment (not-to-exceed 13 Months). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, within-grade increases and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4 year maximum). The appointment to a Term position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes applying the principles and practices of accounting, budgeting and other financial regulations; following rules associated with recording and tracking budgetary transactions; reviewing, editing and consolidating budget estimates; and using automated accounting and budget systems to reconcile errors. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work may require some physical effort, such as standing, walking, bending, or sitting. The work is primarily sedentary, with no special physical demands. The employee works in an office setting involving everyday risks or discomforts. Normal safety precautions are required.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
