We are looking for:
GovCon Accounting Specialist or Business Advisor – GovCon Specialist as we call the role at Richtr- Is an experienced accountant that can demonstrate a depth of knowledge and firsthand experience working with multiple types of government contracts. 3+ years with government contract accounting experience. Knowledge with DoD, NASA, NSF, BARDA, NIH, etc. is required. Strong knowledge and experience working with DCAA, FAR, DFARS, and CAS regulations, and experience with preparing for or participating in a DCAA contract audit. The right candidate will not only be a numbers-oriented person—but is also a leader and an excellent communicator.
What a typical day might be like:
Each day is filled with a variety of tasks from recording and reconciling client transactions to special research projects where you might either be working solo-- championing the completion of a project, or working in coordination with a Business Advisor to achieve a set goal for a client.
The tasks that you will encounter will range between entry level to mid-level accounting and government contract compliance. These tasks include managing electronic streams of data and ensuring they are recorded to the correct locations. Determining if costs are allowable or unallowable, in coordination with a Business Advisor, researching or obtaining support for transactions. You will have opportunities to learn and grow within the team. Most of the work we do is completed on SaaS based technologies and accounting software including QuickBooks Online, Unanet, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Your typical day may include the following tasks:
Ø Full cycle accounts payable, accounts receivable & G/L entries for clients with government contracts or grants
Ø Adhering to FAR and CAS regulations
Ø Regular updates of SaaS transactions & sync maintenance
Ø Setup/maintenance of systems and records
Ø Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
Ø Assisting with financial statement preparation
Ø Payroll & payroll tax processing/coordination
Ø Sales tax & other compliance processing/coordination

Ø We employ a wide variety of integrated SaaS based technologies (Including QBO) while emphasizing both efficient processes.
Ø We are always considering our Client’s Experience (CX) and Outcomes!
This job might be for you if:
Ø You have experience doing the accounting work for companies with government contracts or SBIR grants
Ø You are familiar with DCAA, FAR, and CAS requirements
Ø You are knowledgeable when it comes to defining types of cost, and can help a client understand how to appropriately define their costs according to FAR
Ø You have experience with how to properly bill the government for work completed on a contract
Ø You are knowledgeable with cost accounting
Ø You are familiar with Unanet, Deltek, GovCon365, Jamis or other GovCon accounting systems
Ø You are great with technology and can easily navigate the GovCon and SaaS apps ecosystem
Ø You are extremely proficient with Excel
