The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) provides Federal leadership in developing the nation's capacity to prevent and control crime, administer justice, and assist crime victims. OJP's Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) provides policy guidance, control, and support services in accounting and the financial management of grants.
OCFO's Finance Accounting and Analysis Division (FAAD) supports the organization by providing the following services: (1) technical assistance to OJP grantees; (2) records and maintains records of financial data; (3) prepares consolidated financial statements; (4) makes grantee payments; (4) reconciles grantee accounts; and (5) audit tracking and audit resolution of OJP grantees.
The Financial Specialist will provide Tier 1 level support for telephone and email assistance and provide outstanding Customer Service by responding to financial questions for grants from internal OJP staff, grantees and the general public. The Specialist will also provide reconciliations of complex financial transactions and provide writer/editor support for financial policies and standard operating procedures. Responsibilities:

POSITION TIMING: Position requires a DOJ Public Trust security clearance which can take 2-3+ months to process and must be complete prior to candidate starting work.
SALARY: $50,000

- Provide post award financial technical assistance to the Office of Justice Program grantees
- Manage a large volume of incoming calls regarding Grant inquiries
- Conduct outreach to grantees for financial requirements, payment outreach, and Treasury referrals
- Completing financial reconciliations
- Data entry into the financial systems
- Complete special projects as assigned
- BS/BA required in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Criminal Justice or a relevant field
- 3 years of professional experience directly relating to financial/accounting/banking and/or financial Customer Service
- Ability to obtain a DOJ Public Trust clearance
- Grant knowledge, preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Standard office environment; ability to lift 25 pounds.
