The Partnership is a pioneering school management organization (SMO) that is shaping the next generation of urban Catholic education. Granted operational management of seven long-standing Pre-K to 8th grade schools in the South Bronx and Harlem, the Partnership is committed to providing students with the academic preparation, values, and skills they need to excel.
Specific areas of responsibility for the Finance team at Partnership include financial operations (AR/AP), monthly reporting, forecasting/budgeting, accounting for monthly & annual close as well as annual audit support, treasury & investments, and financial data analytics. Within this team, the FP&A Associate will own a portfolio of monthly reports for schools/departments that include pulling reports, dashboard creation and budget maintenance within the accounting software, and scheduling necessary team meetings. This may include financial reports/analysis needed for grants and foundations applications. Additionally, the role will grow to include supporting the VP of Finance on endowment and investment accounts reconciliations, supporting development department financial requests, and other task/projects as needed.
We are seeking an FP&A Associate who is ready to dig in with pulling the reports, creating distribution and monthly meeting schedules. As they come to understand the finance reports, they will be expected to provide useful financial insights that help guide decision-making and employ creative problem solving skills to maintain efficient systems that integrate with the fuller finance team. We are seeking a person with excellent written and oral communication skills that will own their responsibilities and still work with the fuller team in a productive manner.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Curiosity and analytical mindset.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of general business matters required including budget development, financial reporting, GAAP, cash management, nonprofit finance and accounting regulations.
- Experience in the nonprofit, philanthropic or related field.
- Experience in an accounting role – bookkeeping, AR/AP, etc.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft, and Google platforms
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Ability to effectively communicate accounting and finance concepts to non-finance partners and staff.
- Prefer advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including sumifs, vlookup, index & match, and pivot tables.
- Prefer experience with Sage Intacct, Box, and Anybill platforms.
Position Basis: Full-Time, majority of time in-person required.
Start Date: As soon as possible. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
Salary Range:
$70,000 – 95,000 annual salary
