Under the supervision of the Controller, the Financial Analyst is responsible for computing and analyzing the monthly faculty practice and professional charges, contractual discounts, and accounts receivable reserves utilizing large data sets from the patient accounting system. The Financial Analyst is also responsible for the timely reporting of the subsidiary reports to enable the tracking of payor data, net revenues, and statistical analysis. Other duties include assisting the accounting team with the financial close and reporting, special projects, and process improvement.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or four years of applicable exp.
- Four or more years of accounting/finance experience with two specific years work working for a Healthcare organization or a Public Accounting firm handling healthcare clients.
- Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables, working with large data sets, index match, lookups)
- Proficient word processing skills (MS Word).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, aptitude for numbers and well well-organized.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Revenue recognition accounting in the physician and/or hospital industry.
- Experience analyzing professional billing or hospital patient accounts receivable and valuation of contractual allowances, bad debt, and charity care during monthly financial close (accounting side of the revenue cycle, not patient financial services billing and collections)
- Strong team collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across various levels and diverse personnel/departments.
- Ability to work independently with general direction.
- Previous financial close and reporting experience.
- Ability to complete a broad spectrum of complex analytical duties and provide recommendations based on large data sets.
- Knowledge and experience in EPIC, SQL and/or any other data analytic application. PeopleSoft and/or Access proficiency.
- Crowe RCA and hospital or medical group experience.
- Data Analytic Certification.
