Summary:
The Financial Analyst II will be responsible for financial forecasting and analyses, budgeting, reporting, the monthly cost of goods calculations, synthesis of complex data into presentable and actionable analyses for senior management, and various ad hoc analyses supporting the entire business but focused on their business unit. The successful candidate will have an exceptional data background and strong financial analytics, forecasting, and reporting knowledge. This position is in the Financial Planning and Analysis department and reports to the department head.
What You'll Do:
- Create and manage monthly business unit reporting, including but not limited to financial performance and sales KPIs.
- Manage the business unit's annual budget process, including developing required financial models.
- Process monthly business unit billing and conduct related analyses on trends within the financial statements.
- Forecast financial metrics such as COGS and revenue, utilizing various methodologies.
- Present forecasts, reports, and other analyses to senior management in a professional and thoughtful manner
- Manage the monthly cost of goods calculation for the accounting department.
- Serve as subject matter expert on cost of goods and weekly revenue forecasts.
- Identify and implement initiatives to automate processes within the scope of the role.
- Conduct deep dives into the underlying assumptions and quantitative details of all analyses, step back, and make recommendations based on data insights.
- Conduct all analyses and duties deliberately and thoughtfully to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Communicate effectively between accounting, sales, operations, and senior management business units.
- Assist as needed in helping the FP&A department be a guiding analytical partner to other business units
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management, or Accounting (required)
- At least 5 years of related analytical experience (required)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required)
- SQL / relational database experience (required)
- Experience with data transformation, cleaning, and synthesis (required)
- Must be an effective communicator and interact positively and productively with all levels of the organization, including members of senior management
