Ensure proper application of internal and external accounting requirements across all business processes & functions used in the development of financial statements. Lead and develop team of finance professionals, use of effective communication to improve business results and meet strategic company objectives.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Develop and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and perform variance analysis and communication.
- Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
- Provide oversight to Accounts Payable for problem solving and process improvements. Evaluate weekly payment proposals for accuracy.
- Monitor changes to business practices ensuring appropriate internal controls exist.
- Business partner providing guidance and training on accounting matters to other business functions such as Procurement, Engineering, and Operations.
- Support capital projects by providing financial analysis, ROI, and guidance.
- Drive process improvements, communicate cost savings opportunities and spending issues.
- Owner of annual budget and forecast templates along with upload process.
- Coach, mentor, and develop a team of financial professionals.
Education and experience requirements:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- MBA, CPA, and/or CMA preferred, but not required.
- 5-7+ years of relevant job experience in an Accounting or Finance role, including a minimum of three years in a supervisory role
Skill Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in ERP systems such as SAP
- Knowledge of US GAAP basic principles and elements of internal controls
- Understanding of manufacturing accounting environment
