Job Position: Finance Director
Direct Supervisor: Administrator
Job Summary: The Director of Finance is responsible for directing and coordinating all aspects of Eldercare of Bemidji finances including general accounting, resident accounting and financial and statistical reporting. The Finance Director has oversight in yearly audits, accounts receivable, collections and willingness to learn the intricacies of health care accounting to include the yearly cost reports. This position also includes oversight of business office personnel to include a Business Office Manager and a Business Office Resident biller. The ElderCare of Bemidji campus consists of 4 buildings: Nursing home, 2 assisted living buildings, independent apartments.
Benefits: Excellent benefit package including: medical, dental, vision, paid time off, life insurance, 401K match up to 5% after 1 year of employment; eligible to sign up on date of hire for 401K.
Wage: $70,000- $85,000, salary position, depending on experience
Job Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass background checks.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, equivalent experience will be considered.
Five to seven years of increasing responsibility in the healthcare finance environment. Long-term care preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to work in the private sector going forward but may have had previous work experience as an auditor or CPA. This prior experience would be very beneficial to overseeing the ElderCare of Bemidji Finance Department.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical skills necessary as well as working knowledge of computer systems and accounting/ finance software.
Must be able to demonstrate or substantiate knowledge in accounting/ finance principles and applications. Cost reporting experience preferred.
Must have a broad and comprehensive understanding of the audit process and programs.
Analyze and solve problems effectively and efficiently.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must be highly ethical with a high level of integrity; self-motivated; dependable and reliable; detailed oriented; able to interface easily with staff, other senior management personnel and funding sources.
Responsible for overseeing the Business Office Manager and Business Office Biller to encompass total oversight of the finance department.
Hours of Work: Monday- Friday 8:00-4:30 pm. Hours may vary depending on needs of the department and the reporting deadlines.
