SAIC is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide on-site financial management support at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, RI. The individual will use financial practices and procedures in resolving problems and based on the financial results of the program prepare recommendations for management. The individual will work on assignments moderately difficult and complex in scope, and will interact daily with supervisor, peer groups, and customers.
The individual will perform the following functions:
- Perform cost and financial analysis of program status and prepare recommendations for management.
- Provide analysis of project funds including future forecasting of out-year requirements, carryover forecasting and expenditure analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and verify budget and financial cost and schedules of programs.
- Gather project financial data, tracking funding allocations, distributions, and expenditures, and develop financial status reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Maintain multiple project schedules/trackers and prepare program status reports for management.
- Other duties may include developing technical reports, preparing presentations and assisting with the management and tracking of other project data, as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting/business-related field and 0 years of experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain SECRET level clearance.
- Strong accounting, business financial analytical skills.
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of NUWCDIVNPT/Navy applications (ERP, EDW, etc.), knowledge of types and use of Government funds.
- Ability to manage all facets of financial and programmatic planning/forecasting.
- Ability to operate independently once provided with sufficient direction, but also in a collaboratory/team environment.
- Self-starter/initiative and ability to work on multiple tasks with changing deadlines and priorities in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional and personal demeanor to establish strong working relationships with customers, technical staff, managers, and peers, and various Government and contractor personnel.
- Must be highly motivated, and have excellent problem solving skills.
