Finance Assistant
SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our finance team. The Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations and ensuring the smooth financial functioning of the company. The Finance Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day tasks in the finance department. They will process and record transactions in both AP and AR, and upper management will use the work of the Finance Assistant to drive their decisions.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoices processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with payroll processing.
- Collaborate with project managers to track project expenses and reconcile project budgets.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- 1+ years in finance, accounting, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead self with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices is a plus.
REPORTS TO
- This role reports to the Finance Manager.
SUPERVISION
- The position does not have any regular responsibility for overseeing or supervising the work of other team members, however teamwork and direct communication with each other is expected and highly encouraged.
SCHEDULE
- Full-time | Target 40-45 hours per week
- Work hours | Monday to Friday in the office 7:30-5:00 (start/end times are flexible within this timeframe)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary range of $45,000 – $60,000 depending on experience and skillset
