Peterson Bernard Law Firm in WPB is looking for a motivated Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our team. The applicant must have experience in Law Firm accounting and will be responsible for processing accounts receivable and accounts payable. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, has a high attention to detail, and is able to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Process invoices
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
- Post journal entries, prepare financial statements, analyze results, and improve processes
- Handle all office operating costs in a timely manner
- Research and resolve discrepancies or problems
- Maintain financial security systems and procedures
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven bookkeeping experience of 5-10 years minimum preferred
- Law firm accounting and bookkeeping experience a must
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable receivable principles and practices
- Proven ability to calculate, post, manage, and monitor accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a natural ability to organize information and create charts and graphs
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with intermediate proficiency in Excel. Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required.
