Accounting Assistant

Watson Civil Construction, Inc. is a heavy/highway contractor specializing in FDOT projects, large site infrastructure, underground, and road work with 250+ employees working throughout Florida. We are a dynamic rapidly growing company that is currently seeking a qualified candidate for our Accounting Assistant opening in the Jacksonville/St. Augustine, FL area.
Job Duties may include assisting our Accounting Department with:
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable Collections
Payroll
General Accounting (journal entries, bank reconciliations, data entry, etc.)
Fixed asset and inventory tracking
Completing Notices to Owner
Other office administration duties as needed to support the accounting department
Desired qualifications:
Construction accounting experience
Excel skills with proficiency in the suite of Office 365 products; knowledge of construction industry ERP systems desired, Viewpoint Spectrum is preferred.
Ability to be flexible, work independently, and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
Experience working for a Heavy Civil Contractor is desired
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers
