Finance Analyst, Financial Planning And Analysis

The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Financial Planning and Analyst team who helps prepare information for presentation to the Board of Directors, executive team, and team members throughout the company, as well as provides data and Analysis to ensure our teams can make the most informed decisions possible. This individual will work collaboratively with senior leadership and operational finance leaders across The Cianbro Companies to support, problem-solve, and provide information accurately and efficiently. This is a dynamic role that will require excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a robust understanding of financial statements.
Job Responsibilities

• Support the annual budgeting process, collaborating with senior leaders, and consolidating the proposed budgets of various companies and business units at the parent level.
• Support the development of materials for quarterly business reviews, business unit reports, monthly close reviews, internal financial statements, bank financials, and others as needed.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and dashboards for senior management, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to evaluate operational efficiency and performance against company goals (variance analysis).
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by management.
• Coordinate with the accounting team to support month-end close processes.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, translating financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
• Present financial findings and recommendations clearly and understandably.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and financial regulations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function.
• Support the administration, and optimization of financial reporting software (Prophix).

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related degree/work experience.
• Thorough understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Very strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, charts/visualizations, formatting).
• Strong skills with PowerPoint and Power BI (or other BI tools).
• Experience with financial systems and reporting software (Prophix, Strata, or other CPM software).
