Join the our team as the Field Support Engineer (FSE) Field Training SME for the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment technical training team! The successful candidate will provide continuous Nose-to-Tail FSE training and FSE Subject Matter expertise to Aeronautics Field Sustainment FSEs CONUS and OCONUS. This position could be located at one of the following 4 locations:
- Luke Air Force Base, Arizona
- Eglin Air Force Base, Florida
- MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina
- Fort Worth, Texas
The FSE Field Trainer will be responsible for onsite field training material development/documentation, sustainment/upkeep, and facilitate training events to ensure Lockheed Martin FSEs are proficient in resolving issues arising from maintenance or modification activities for all matters dealing with the F-35 aircraft. The preferred candidate should have an accomplished background as an F-35 Field Support Engineer with troubleshooting and analysis of aircraft Vehicle Systems/Mission Systems problems with capacity to function as a Low Observable FSE as well. This FSE Field trainer will need to stay apprised of field issues and adjust onsite FSE training tactics accordingly based on engineering dispositions and Action Requests (AR).
The selected candidate must be willing to work and interact with all level of personnel from maintainer communities to Integrated Product Team (IPT) engineers and other companies. Candidate must be able to work with and communicate well both orally and written in a team environment as this position involves significant interface with FSEs and customer personnel at all levels. Manage and track multiple engineering and logistic support activities, providing periodic status to the customer and program management team. Act as the primary Field Training interface for the FSE Core and Aeronautics Field Sustainment.
Must be willing to:
• Travel CONUS and OCONUS frequently to support FSE training progression and FSE backfill.
• US Department of Defense (DoD) mandated vaccinations may be required.
• Fill in as the Onsite FSE at locations needing onsite customer technical support both Operation and Maintenance.
Other responsibilities include:
• Accomplish troubleshooting and analysis of difficulties experienced in the field.
• Attend debriefings to aid in the rapid identification of emerging issues that require company intervention to avoid aircraft downtime.
• Document all unusual operation / maintenance problems to ensure the company is apprised of and can identify emerging failure trends.
• Initiate Action Requests (ARs). Identify unique operational problems that require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to resolve. Provide on-site assistance to company and customer personnel initiating ARs.
• Provide training to customer personnel. Must be able to work and interact with the maintainer as well as the professional engineers from other F-35 companies as a peer.
• Provide support for the assigned site on aircraft ground maintenance and operational limitations. Direct on-site support as requested by customer, site manager or program management. Lead and track multiple engineering efforts and provide periodic status to customer and program management.
• Must be a US Citizen. The position is located at a facility that will require special access. Must be able to obtain F-35 Special Program Access. Candidate must have an active Secret Security Clearance.
Basic Qualifications
The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:
• Minimum 5 years' experience serving as an onsite F-35 Field Support Engineer with Vehicle Systems/Avionics-Mission Systems
• Technical writing skills
• Training experience (formal or informal)
• Extensive background in drawing/schematic
reading and interpretation
• Fault isolation and problem analysis
experience at the sub-system level
Desired skills
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from other candidates:
• Currently a FSE supporting AFS Onsite Customer
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college
• Experience in US Air Force or USN/USMC
operations
• International customer experience a plus
• Contributed to development of training material
• Managed or Lead a team of onsite F-35 FSEs

Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Colorado Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $91,300 - $175,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
