Investigate accidents immediately upon notification. Ensure the safety of the field and office staff. Meet with customers to communicate our safety culture to maximize customer satisfaction and safety. Engage with field leaders on safety intensive work tasks.
1.Assist Foreman & Techs with Safety Specific Work Tasks:
- Take lead on developing and organizing Method of Procedures (MOP’s), hot work permits, field lock out/Tag out policies and power disconnect/reconnect permit documents for energized equipment, shutdowns, and other similar work tasks.
- Help to keep all the above documents updated.
- Verify installations meet requirements for safety, specifications, and quality.
- Audits of equipment and materials on job site visits for all shutdowns.
2.Ensure Field and Office Safety:
- Stay apprised of written safety policies.
- Coach, train, and instruct all employees in safety. Conduct reviews of new team members still in their “orange” hard hats.
- Monitor Service and Field safety, weekly site walks of assigned projects. Perform site/van inspection to all service technician monthly. Bimonthly visits of all service techs and projects.
- Monitor facility services and new construction with site walks weekly.
- Verify toolbox talks and pre-task plans daily, audit weekly, and report monthly.
- Participate in monthly and/or quarterly Safety Committee meetings.
- Participate in and lead safety topics during leadership meetings and special projects meeting.
- Participate in and lead safety topics during Annual safety conference.
3.Maximize Customer Satisfaction and Safety
- Meet with General Contractors, site Superintendent(s) and other personnel to establish a presence and to communicate our safety culture.
- Work with the general contractor to identify potential hazards on the jobsite to help mitigate issue before they become near misses or incidents.
- Spend time getting to know the general contractors and superintendents to cultivate a good working relationship.
- Promote safety culture throughout entire employee pool with the emphasis on company values.
4.Investigate Accidents Immediately Upon Notification.
- Assist in documenting investigation interviews with employees, injured parties, and witnesses.
- Notify Safety Director and HR immediately of accidents and submit investigation paperwork within 24 hours.
- Assist employees who need to transition to light duty.
- Investigate and document near misses and develop correction/prevention plan.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Must have good command of the English language - verbal and written.
- Must have good trade & NEC knowledge.
- Ability to train, influence and motivate team members.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 3 years of commercial construction safety experience required.
- Commercial electrical experience required.
- OSHA 30 required.
- OSHA 500 preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach over head – all for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing to work both indoors and out at all times of the year.
- Able to Climb ladders (all types) and work from scaffolds and lifts.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 20+ pounds unassisted.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
