Job description

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – CALIBRATION / METROLOGY
Metro Detroit Service Area
Reports to Service Manager
Hourly, Non-Exempt
Trainee pay range $21-$25 depending on experience, with increases at Level 1 and Level 2
Here at GR Metrology we know our 100 years of success comes from our people and ensuring they have opportunities for growth. We feel honored to have 30-year veteran employees working alongside technicians who are just getting into the business and building their careers. We take pride in what we do and love being able to provide our customers with the peace of mind that comes from calibrating, repairing, and servicing their measurement equipment.
The newest addition to our team will be based out of our Romulus, MI shop. We have customers across the Metro Detroit area and service a wide range of industries. We’re seeking someone who will go onsite to customer locations and calibrate industrial weighing equipment such as balances, truck scales, floor scales, tank scales, bench/counting scales, etc. and eventually become a registered serviceperson for the state of MI. Our technicians typically travel regionally throughout the day with the potential for an overnight trip required 2-3 times per year. Technicians are eligible to dispatch from home after graduating from the training program and can be based anywhere in the greater Metro Detroit area.
This person will also eventually become our Romulus shops go-to person for “lab” equipment such as torque wrenches, DC electric torque, preset wrenches, thermometers, RTD’s, temp controllers, ovens/chambers, freezers/fridges, heat sealers, microscopes, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, force gages, test stands, concrete testers, load cells, hardness testers, tension meters, rulers, tape measurers, dial indicators, height/snap/thickness gages, surface plates, etc.
We provide everything you need to do your job - from a company vehicle, phone, laptop, tools, and apparel to the training you need to learn this skilled trade.
