BAE Systems is seeking to hire Requirement Field Service Technician (FST) providing on-site support to the US Army, US Army National Guard and/or Reserves for the Cold Weather, All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) located in Fairbanks, Anchorage and other locations within Alaska. This new system is the replacement for the Small Unit Support Vehicle (SUSV). Candidate Field Service Technician (FST) must be capable of providing the following services for all CATV models.
The contractor shall provide experienced CLS personnel to support the CATV CLS locations. These personnel shall be trained and qualified to operate, diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, train (OJT), retrofit, and repair the CATV. CLS Personnel shall have the ability to identify failures of CATV GFE and shall report failures of GFE to the requisite unit repair activity for those items. CLS Personnel will be prepared to provide operator and maintainer on-the-job training at all levels. CLS Personnel shall comply with local unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for documenting and reporting maintenance and repair activities to include CATV reporting. The contractor shall provide a quantity of CLS Personnel support required to maintain the number of vehicles at each location under each delivery order/task order.
The Contractor shall perform Operator and Field level maintenance and Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on the CATV fleet and perform on-site test and technical inspection to fault isolate and repair defective components or systems at the field maintenance level.
The contractor shall provide the personnel and support equipment including test equipment and tools to provide technical assistance and perform as necessary all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as required herein to support the CATV at fielded locations.
Required Skills and Education
- The candidate FST shall have received initial Mechanic training through either the US Military or a Civilian Automotive/Heavy Truck Institute.
- The FST shall have the necessary experience, skills and training to perform general maintenance for the CATV Vehicle and Systems, Including, but not limited to: Drive Train, Suspension, Electrical, Hydraulic and HVAC.
- The FST must possess the willingness to increase their basic skill sets through hands-on learning, coaching and mentoring.
- The FST shall provide hands-on Scheduled and Un-Scheduled Maintenance Support to the US Military as needed, whether in garrison or field environments.
- The FST shall perform Warranty Claim Repairs, Modifications, Upgrades and Retrofits of the CATV Vehicle, and its sub-systems, as necessary.
- The FST shall have a basic understanding with Microsoft Office products and be able to effectively utilize these software tools.
- The FST must be able to communicate effectively whether through verbal or written communications.
- The FST shall comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as government contract requirements.
- The FST must have the necessary qualities to work as a team member following verbal and written guidance, and in limited circumstances, be able to work alone and self-supervise.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must possess or obtain a valid US Passport.
Must possess a valid state issued Driver's License.
Must be able to pass a pre-screen background investigation check.
Must be able to qualify for, and maintain, a US Government issued Common Access Card.
Must be able to physically perform Maintenance Tasks in a Cold Weather Environment for extended months of the year.
Technical Training (Military or Civilian) in Automotive, Heavy Industry Automotive (CIV) or Track Vehicle, Wheeled Vehicle (MIL).
