JOB DESCRIPTION: FIELD SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE
Oversees safety functions, safety processes, DOT compliance, OSHA compliance, and management of accident/illness occurrence. Uses influence and relationships to encourage the use of learning as a means to improve safety performance and compliance. Anticipates, identifies and corrects issues involving safety and regulatory compliance. This is a safety-sensitive position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide safety support to all employees of Shale Oilfield Services/Bakken Disposals
Complete HAZMAT training and manage HAZMAT program.
Manage the development/execution of the EHS communication and program strategy for this industrial leader.
Maintain the CPR kit program.
Administer first-aid and CPR when needed.
Skill in hazard communication, LOTO, machine guarding, and contractor safety.
Insure permits and LOTO procedures are as followed for commissioning, pumps, motors, turbines.
Call and schedule participants in order to bring in and deliver vehicles used for emissions testing at the EPA.
Inspect safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and tag those not meeting safety requirements.
Develop OSHA compliance and proactive safety management programs for the manufacturing facilities and branch locations.
Create and implement a facility wide OSHA compliance inspection program to identify hazards and document corrective actions.
Participate on site management committees to establish business improvements and the successful integration of EHS programs.
Develop and coordinate departmental ergonomics projects that contribute to equipment design changes, business system modifications and revise employee work habits.
Perform hazard awareness training and safety supervision to oilfield operations in high H2S areas.
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years experience in a safety role
3+ years experience in the oilfield
Strong mechanical ability
Computer proficiency
TRAINING:
PEC Safeland
H2S Clear
One Basin One Way
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to move/load/unload/work with 2” – 4” hoses.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS:
Work will be performed outdoors in ALL weather conditions including sub-zero temperatures.
Potential hazards include working near or with heavy tools and moving machinery and exposure to chemicals and loud noises.
