Field Engineer - Cyber

Summary of Position

The Field Engineer provides operations and sustainment for current and future platform baselines and associated continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline activities for Cyber Mission Platform (CMP).

The purpose of the program is to obtain appropriately skilled contractor support staff for sustainment of the CMP and (future) Generation-3 (Gen-3) platform baselines and associated continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline activities to meet the program management office's (PMOs) customer needs. The current system is transitioning from a service oriented architecture (SOA) to a micro-services architecture. The PMO plans to evolve the system through a series of developmental and sustainment enhancements and upgrades over the next several years.

• Field engineering provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to the operational system.
  • Tier 2 support will assist in solving basic technical problems and investigating elevated issues by confirming the validity of the program and seeking solutions related to the problem and to more complex issues.
  • Tier 2 support will be able to prioritize the support/troubleshooting processes and effectively manage system sustainment.
  • Tier 3 support represents expert level troubleshooting and in-depth analysis.
  • Tier 3 support provides subject matter experts in their fields and are responsible for implementing limited research and development of solutions to new, unknown or unforeseen issues. If it is determined that a problem cannot be solved within a reasonable timeframe, this support group is responsible for designing and developing one or more courses of action, evaluating each of these courses in a test case environment, and implementing the best solution to the problem until a permanent solution can be delivered.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Active TS/SCI DoD Security Clearance
• Citizenship verification required due to Export Control compliance. A "US Person" is defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 which includes US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, certain refugee or asylee designations.
• Willing to undergo an investigation for a security clearance and not previously had a security clearance denied or dismissed.
• 5+ years of software development
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with C, C++ software programming language
• Compliance with DoD 8140, IA Systems Engineer Level II certification
• Physical Requirements: Frequently remain in stationary position, frequently operate computers and other office equipment, frequently communicate to exchange information with people via voice and/or written language, occasionally carry and/or lift items up to 20 pounds, and occasionally move about the office to access office equipment
