Northern Trust is seeking an individual to join the Global Fiduciary Risk team with a focus on covering the Fiduciary Investment risk taking activities across the Wealth Management and Asset Management business units. Responsibilities include risk management, problem solving, communication and escalation of potential out of appetite risks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of risk management programs, policies and controls.
- Work collaboratively across business units and lines of defense to deliver on corporate and business unit priorities.
- To safeguard business operations and client interests.
- Ability to identify control gaps and successfully interpret regulatory guidance; Communicate with senior management and regulators.
- Identification, assessment and mitigation of investment and fiduciary risks.
- Identification of emerging risks.
- Evaluate and challenge outsized risk-taking behavior.
- Collaboration with risk partners and business unit partners to drive process improvement.
- Provide support for the business units in preparing for and responding to audit, global compliance testing, and regulatory inquiries and exams.
- Engage as a subject matter expert.
- Conduct deep analysis of fiduciary processes and investment products.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 Years investment management and fiduciary experience with a deep understanding of fiduciary investing and financial products including conflicts of interest and risk / return tradeoffs.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Power point, and data management applications.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of risk management concepts.
- Ability to analyze, understand and challenge risk taking activities when engaging with business units.
- Strong ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
