Job Description
- Responsible for all aspects of the Feed Mill in Arcadia. This includes responsibility for the full operations of the Feed Mill. To administer corporate policies and procedures to all hourly Feed Mill employees. To ensure compliance with all regulatory areas including safety, Environmental, CGMP'S and Food Safety Plan.
- Responsible for processing feed and for meeting department and company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety.
- Responsible for the development and training of employees, working within the guidelines of Company Policies.
- Responsible for quick and timely feedback to plant manager on all exceptions in regard to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety and managing the correction of areas which are out of acceptable parameters.
- Ensure department compliance with Company policies, law and regulations which include USDA, SSOP, OSHA required safety programs.
- Administer to ensure that safety orientations and safety meetings are held as required to keep frequency and severity to a minimum.
- Participate at department meetings in the planning process and to the testing and development of techniques/processes.
- Purchasing of plant supplies, personnel supplies and plant machine parts. Vendor utilization, set up vendors for parts minor and major repairs. Responsible for in house and outside safety, including safety meetings and disciplinary actions. Responsible all regulatory and environmental requirements
Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. in Business Management (or a related field) and/or equivalent work experience.
- 5-10 years with increasingly responsible management positions in the poultry processing industry.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to evaluate supervision fairly and objectively. Advanced problem-solving skills and independent decision making
- Exhibit strong leadership skills/internal drive to succeed.
- Able to prioritize/adjust quickly to a changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing production needs.
