- Design and optimize gas turbine clearances.
- Perform 2D/3D transient thermal-mechanical analysis with the use of in-house clearance tools.
- Complete engine stack-ups, develop and optimize reduced order clearance models. The engineer will need to have extensive FEA experience to be able to perform the quality and quantity of the work required in the given time scope.
- Work cooperatively with the hardware design engineering team, Aerodynamics, Performance, and Systems teams to develop a configuration that meets all design requirements.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in ANSYS FEA thermal/mechanical design.
- 3+ years of experience in Unigraphics/NX.
- Programming background/proficiency in using/writing macros.
- 2+ years of programming experience, preferably with Python.
- Good communication, presentation, and people skills. Enjoy or thrive on the interactions. Work involves significant collaboration with the design teams.
- Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM
- Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Location: Greenville, SC (remote allowed within USA)
Travel: Minimal < 5%
Compensation type: Salary Exempt with a competitive package dependent on level of experience
