Family Promise North Central Palm Beach County is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless families in our community regain their independence. Family Promise is part of a national organization with over 180 affiliates that provides temporary shelter, transportation, meals, and comprehensive case management for families who are experiencing homelessness.

PURPOSE:

This organized, compassionate, and motivated person will assist families experiencing homelessness to secure permanent housing. At its core, the practice is trauma-informed, client centered and sees homelessness as a crisis that needs to be mediated. The Family Services Manager will be essential to the effectiveness of Family Promise North Central Palm Beach County and the children and families we serve. The Family Service Manager will be responsible for providing case management and supervising our Priority Housing Program.

Family Promise North Central Palm Beach County's Priority Housing Program (PHP) will provide individualized case management services, innovative programming, and principles to assist homeless children and their families achieve stable and safe housing. This program will focus on four core outcome areas: working from an asset-based, trauma-informed, housing-first approach by establishing stable housing, education/employment attainment, creating connections, increase social and emotional well-being, and work through any barriers as needed. This position is responsible for delivering resources, referrals and workshops as needed related to employment, financial literacy and budgeting, housing plans, and educational planning. By utilizing the organization's resources and partnerships.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Maintain documentation and reporting standards: track census, program eligibility, participation, and challenges in the homeless management information system (CMIS).
• Educate participants on landlord/tenant rights, lease agreements, and evictions and its process.
• Partner with families to create an individualized service treatment plan to include meeting basic needs, service coordination, life skills development, social & emotional wellbeing, permanent connections, and plan for safe and stable housing.
• Implement programmatic policies and procedures to ensure that the objectives are fulfilled.
• Manage the Family Services team by providing guidance and support to ensure goals are met.
• Connect families to needed services including but not limited to, mental health, physical/dental health services, substance abuse, domestic violence, parenting, nutritional and social supports.
• Coordinate staffing and team meetings to assess progress and to develop ongoing support teams.
• Offer ongoing employability, financial literacy, education, and career planning skill building.
• Provide transportation (company vehicle) and community-based services in partnership with the family.
• Participate in community collaboration and networking meetings to expand services offered to children and families, including the Homeless Housing Alliance meetings (HHA's).
• Find housing for families by liaising with landlords and getting families ready as needed.
• Serve as an advocate for families with community service agencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related social science major (Masters Preferred).
• Experience working with at-risk and vulnerable low-income and homeless individuals and community partners.
• Familiar with Palm Beach County Continuum of Care System
• Knowledge of Housing Programs and services within Palm Beach County
• Understand and implement trauma informed care practices and positive framework.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours including many evenings and weekends.
• On-call availability to address conflicts or resolve crisis in the shelter facility.
• Resourceful in securing community resources for basic needs and community services.
• Self-directed and able to create Life Skills curriculum, lesson plans, and must be comfortable presenting to small and large groups.
• Possess critical thinking skills and the ability to assess crisis and create safety plans.
• Can work independently with little to no supervision.
• Self-starter.
• Works well with a team with a great attitude.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Keep and maintain case file records for every family on case load.
• Requires some flexibility and may involve a weekend/evening to meet with families.
• Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to use personal vehicle to transport guests if necessary.
• Ability to operate/ drive a 12 to 15 passenger van.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of the Day Center while meeting the guest needs.
• Assist with fundraisers and community and special events when needed.
