Full-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Primary Care
Position Summary
Location: on-site at one of our facilities
Modesto, Ceres, Turlock, Le Grand, Planada, Merced
Schedule: 4x10 or 5x8
Additional provider incentive program possible, eligibility criteria applies
Your Responsibilities
Assess, evaluate, diagnose, treat, monitor patient’s response to treatment, promote health and protection from disease, and coordinate care for illnesses of and injuries to patients age newborn (36 weeks adjusted gestation and older, to adolescent and adulthood) with the collaborating/supervising physician. Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with policy.
General:
Perform history and physical examination
Order and provide initial interpretation as per the Standardized Procedure for Nurse Practitioners of diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities such as laboratory tests, medications, treatments, and diagnostic imaging
Perform routine immunizations.
Coordinate Referral to supervising physician for complicated or complex clinical cases.
Initiate appropriate referrals
Counsel and instruct patients, families, and caregivers as appropriate
Direct care as specified by Golden Valley Health Centers’ Nursing Practice Standards.
Management of burns - superficial and partial thickness
Apply, remove and change dressings and bandages of wounds and partial-thickness burns.
Incision and drainage of abscesses
Performance of simple skin biopsy and suture of uncomplicated lacerations.
Performance of local anesthetic techniques
Management of uncomplicated, minor , closed fractures and uncomplicated dislocations
Perform urinary bladder catheterization
Removal of non-penetrating foreign bodies from the eye, nose, or ear
Subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections.
Psychiatric evaluation, diagnose, and initiation of psychotropic medication.
Placement of anterior nasal packing
Contraceptive management (excluding intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants)
Gynecology:
- Performance of history and physical exam
- Appropriate screening examination (including breast examination )
- Cryosurgery/cautery for benign disease
- Excision/biopsy of vulvar lesions
- Removal of foreign bodies from the vagina
- Suturing of uncomplicated lacerations
Your Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing and FNP program
Work experience as a Registered Nurse
NP and furnishing licenses
Must be able to clear credentialing, pass background check and drug screening
A high level of autonomy is required for clinical management decisions
