Job Description
Khatami Law, APC, a dynamic Roseville, CA, Family Law Firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, motivated, and focused individual as a full-time Family Law Paralegal to join our fun and exceptional team. This individual must have exceptional qualifications and will assist the attorney with Family Law cases for clients all over California.
The ideal candidate will have no less than three years of experience in a Family Law office, including:
- -knowledge of court procedures and state and local rules of court,
- -calendaring correct and precise due dates and dates for processing of motions, discovery, and other court/legal requests,
- -legal document preparation, including declarations and other pleadings along with required local and/or judicial council forms,
- -fact gathering and research in support of preparation of declarations,
- -advanced knowledge of propounding and responding to discovery,
- -knowledge of legal office technology skills,
- -trial preparation,
- -excellent communication skills, client management and customer service skills, and
- -the ability to manage other tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be EXTREMELY ORGANIZED, highly driven and detail-oriented, and able to multi-task related to several cases and assignments as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct case and legal research to support legal proceedings.
- Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents.
- Coordinate with clients to gather/receive the necessary information to achieve client goals and attorney objectives.
- Coordinate with other staff to set attorney appointments and scheduling for court and other obligations.
- Act as a client liaison to ensure legal and incoming client tasks are addressed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to talk with new or potential clients and describe services in relation to the needs of the new or potential client.
- Set up and maintain client files, database, and other office information related to client service delivery, and
- any other task as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- Degree in paralegal or legal studies.
- Previous experience as a paralegal in the Family Law discipline.
- Familiarity with legal research.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deadline and detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to draft multiple legal pleadings, including declarations, judicial council forms, discovery, responses to discovery, and any other pleadings necessary and as assigned to assist clients.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and other associated law firm software including, but not limited to: legal research platforms, Essential Forms, Case Management Software, Document Production and Organization Software, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
