Job Description
Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency is assisting a Familyin Cornelius, NC in finding a Family Assistant for their Family of 3, including their 5-year-old son. The nanny would typically be needed Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The parents plan on traveling this year and will need the Family Assistant to work some overnights while they are out of town. It would be a plus if the Family Assistant could occasionally travel with the family.
The best Family Assistant would be flexible, positive, friendly, nurturing, and have experience caring for children while managing a home. This role encompasses not only childcare but also being an integral part of the family's day-to-day life. Their son will be in preschool from 9:15 - 1:00 pm, the Family Assistant will be responsible for school pick-up each day. He will be out of school from May to August and will be attending a few day camps. During the time their son is in school, camp, and has quiet time for an hour a day the Family Assistant will be asked to work on the House Management Duties listed below. They are looking for a Family assistant who will manage the household tasks efficiently and will proactively approach the family's varying needs. It is imperative that The Family Assistant is an excellent communicator who excels in organization and will collaborate with the parents to prioritize the family's needs.
While caring for their son, the parents would like the Family Assistant to be extremely interactive and engaged with him. The Family Assistant should foster an environment that will focus on socialization, communication, as well as physical and academic development. Ideally, the family seeks a Family Assistant capable of guiding their son in self-regulation techniques while nurturing emotional balance. The Family Assistant is encouraged to organize play dates and take him on outings within the community, such as walks in the neighborhood, the park, the library, storytime, and other age-appropriate activities. Mom works from home in a dedicated office space during the week. The Nanny should be comfortable with this and respect work-from-home parent boundaries.
Nanny Responsibilities Include:
Meeting the daily scheduling needs of the child
Engaging with the child on an age-appropriate level
Playing with the child both inside and outside the home
Doing hands-on learning activities with the child
Picking him up from school each day
Household Duties Include (Children are first priority):
Child's laundry and changing children's sheets weekly
Pack their son's lunch for the next day of school and prepare simple meals for the family a few days a week
Unloading/loading the dishwasher
Keeping pantry and refrigerator organized and up to date
Grocery shopping
Sanitizing toys and frequently used surfaces by the child
Picking up after the nanny and child throughout the day
Emptying trash
Running Errands, such as taking recyclables, dry cleaning, goodwill drop-off, etc.
Light housekeeping of the main living area
Keeping the home and common areas organized, including the pool area
Managing household schedules
Assisting with travel planning
Qualifications:
Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience
Have a college degree or equivalent experience
Have a professional resume
Fill out a complete online application

Pass a national background check, including a driving record check
Have a valid driver's license
Have safe and reliable transportation
Have a minimum of three professional references
Be non-smoking/vaping
Must be able to swim, family lives on the lake and has a pool
CPR and First Aid Certified
Nanny should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus
Start Date, Salary, and Benefits:
This position starts as soon as they find the best candidate, no later than June
Legal pay is offered at $27 - $30 an hour, negotiable depending on experience
