Job Description
Overview
The Facility Security Officer position is a full-time exempt position. The individual will be responsible for the Facility Security administration management onboard the SBX vessel during operational deployments. The individual will implement and administer security policies and procedures in accordance with customer requirements. The individual will report to the SBX Program Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Successfully implement and maintain the Facility Security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operations Manual (NISPOM).
- Perform security functions including; process visit requests, personnel investigations, security clearance applications, security incident investigations, initial and refresher security training, document control, etc.
- Assist the ISSM with management of information systems to ensure compliance with NISPOM, DoD and other US Government agency security requirements.
- Interface with IT manager, ISSM, and provider on cyber security related matter to ensure system operations in accordance with NIST requirements.
- Provide security support to FSOs for other Cummings Aerospace locations.
- Ensure corporate policies and procedures are adhered to in the day to day performance of duties.
- Support other duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies
- At least 8 years security-related experience in support of DoD programs
- Thorough knowledge of government security regulations, manuals, and processes to include the NISPOM, NISPOM Supplement, DSS RMF principles, OPSEC principles, and COMSEC requirements
- Knowledge of industrial security databases, derivative classification requirements
- Ability to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize work and deliver on time work products
- Minimum SFPC through CDSE SPeD program and/or ISP certification desired
Physical Requirements
- Must pass a Cost Guard / D.O.T pre-employment physical
- Must be able to reside in and work in confined spaces
- Work in adverse or violent motion onboard a vessel
- Lift, push, pull and carry between 30-60 lbs up to 400 feet
- Must be able to climb steep or vertical ladders
Security Clearance
- Candidate must have an active Secret clearance.
Travel
- Up to 75% per year to deployed locations around the world.
- 12-hour shifts aboard
