Assistant Facility Security Officer (Afso)

Spathe is currently searching for a Assistant Facility Security Officer to join our team in the Tampa, FL area.

The AFSO reports directly to the FSO and assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures as required by the Cleared Facility, Department of Defense (DOD), and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

• Assists the FSO with the overall security program
• Processes new employee security clearances
• Tracks security clearance investigations and performs administrative support functions, including Defense Information System for Security (DISS), Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) Administration, and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).
• Provides security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel
• Processes outgoing visit requests and certifications
• Review required forms, processes, and screens security forms (SF86, Horizontal Forms)
• Ensures document control security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with the NISPOM and through coordination with Government Agencies, and the FSO
• Assists in preparation for facility reviews and inspections
• Assist w/Development, implementation and oversight of federal security clearance program
• Provide training for AFSO’s and classified/secure project personnel
• Oversee company’s completion and retention of personnel security clearance records
• Oversee and assist FSOs with self-inspection and review of security processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws
• Oversee and assist FSOs with coordination of closeout for all classified projects
• Assist with administration of company CUI processes and compliance
• Support other company security disciplines as needed in connection with classified/secure projects: Legal, Information Technology and Corporate Communications Skills and Qualifications

• Defense Security Service (DSS)-qualified FSO and 2 years’ experience in security programs as AFSO or in a related field
• US Citizen
• Strong knowledge of DISS and e-QIP government programs, SF86, DD 254, DD 441, and SF 328
• In-depth knowledge of NISPOM requirements, have strong computer skills
• Must complete, or have completed required training, including the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum
• Previous experience managing security on Army contracts and/or with linguists is a plus
• Must be able to interpret and implement security policy, provide guidance, oversight and assistance to company personnel
• Must be able to demonstrate by knowledge and experience the ability to manage and oversee comprehensive Security Compliance Program
• Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and superior attention to detail
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, work independently and in team
• Prefer experience with Army Centralized Contract and Security Portal (ACCS)
• Prefer Experience with Army Center of Excellence Personnel Security Investigation Portal (PSIP)
• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree
• Should have completed applicable DCSA courses
• Preferred Certifications include any of the following: CPSO, CSSO, ISP, SFPC, SAPPC, SPIPC
