The Facility Maintenance Tech performs a variety of routine and tasks involving general maintenance and cleaning of the facility, equipment, and grounds. The range of facilities tasks include (but are not limited to): non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electric, heat/air systems, and ventilation systems and equipment (at a level that does NOT require formal licensure). The Facility Maintenance Tech may be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades such as: light equipment operator, carpenter, painter, and/or locksmith. The Facility Maintenance Tech also performs custodial duties including dusting, wiping surfaces, mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning & restocking restrooms, and general tidying of the facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Makes routine plumbing repairs, replaces lighting, and makes electrical related repairs
- Performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Maintains enough cleaning supply inventory to perform daily tasks
- Sweeps, mops, and vacuums in assigned areas, as needed
- Cleans rest rooms, offices and replenishes supplies
- Collects trash, empties garbage containers, sanitizes trash containers, and removes trash for disposal
- Cleans and polishes metal surfaces and drinking fountains
- Operates polishing machine, carpet machine and vacuum cleaner
- Disposes of green waste daily or as needed
- Works independently on routine recurring assignments or assists with performing more complex tasks
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with peers
- Learns and performs assigned tasks quickly and correctly through on-the-job training
- Reads and interprets blueprints, machine manuals, and schematic drawings to assist in making plumbing and electrical repairs
- Comprehends written materials
- Uses Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety procedures, and appropriate equipment in completing assignments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check
- Must be able to communicate with leadership and peers effectively and professionally
- Experience with electrical, HVAC systems, and refrigeration systems a plus
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of basic machine operations
- Knowledge of three-phase motors and controls up to 480 volts
- Knowledge of the use and care of commonly used equipment and tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high stress situations

- Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in temperature extremes for extended periods of time

Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary trade or vocational school preferred or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience with mechanical responsibilities
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
