Data Center Facilities Manager
We are seeking a Facilities Manager (IC2-G4) in our Petersburg, West Virginia Data Center to assist in ensuring availability of mechanical and electrical resources and dealing with all aspects of maintaining facilities contracts at the site.
The Facilities Manager will assist in supporting all aspects of Data Center and building operations including facility infrastructure testing, preventive maintenance, service delivery, quality assurance, adherence to corporate standards/processes, oversight of all internal/customer hardware assets within the Data Center, and continuous operational improvement.
The Role
As an Data Center Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Operating and managing both routine maintenance and emergency servicing regarding a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, CRAC units, building monitoring systems.
- Conducting analyses, with the ability to prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility, operations and maintenance.
- Assisting in projects to increase current facility efficiency.
- Critical asset and inventory management.
- Acting as initial escalation point.
- First level troubleshooting of issues affecting critical assets within the facility.
- Keeping others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company.
- Direct and oversee sub-contractors during assigned work.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:
Technical
- Proven electrical trade experience.
- Experience of Data Centre cooling systems
- Experienced in BMS and the installation of BMS systems along with HVAC controls.
- Experienced in the technical design and fit out of Data Centre infrastructure utilising energy saving systems such as free cooling and high efficiency U.P.S.
- Experienced in the use of Computerised Maintenance management software.
- Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
- Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
- Good Computer and organisational skills, with the ability to work accurately and to deadlines.
- Demonstrates sound judgment when making and escalating decisions.
Communication and Initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.
- Is resourceful, maintains effective pace and gets things done.
Role Specific Knowledge
- Constantly demonstrates the ability to successfully operate critical equipment within the facility.
- Has a professional qualification in Electro- Mechanical systems.
- Creates CMs, MOPs, SOP, EOPs, which are easily understood by others.
- Shows a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
