ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the daily supervision of a night staff sub-unit within a custodial, grounds, and labor operation. Plans, schedules, and prioritizes work activities to meet unit goals and objectives. Performs tasks that require specialized knowledge and skills within a designated custodial or grounds unit.
- Supervises and works along with night custodial staff to insure the overall cleanliness (interior & exterior) of the Union complex, Askew Student Life Center, Students Services Building, & Circus. Implements cleaning and training procedures. Responsible for planning & scheduling work assignments to the designated zone staff. Conducts a walk through inspection of areas in each zone (Inspects custodial closets, storage rooms & custodial equipment to ensure that it is being properly secured & maintained.) Works closely with Morning Facility Services Union Custodial Supervisor (00065085) to provide consistent cleaning procedures and services for night & day shifts. Responds to requests for spills, cleanups and trash/recyclable collection. Works with Building Services Administration/Human Resources/Director on all administrative personnel matters, i.e. time sheets, appointments, Employee Performance Appraisals, overtime requests, special events manpower & equipment needs. Communicates facility & equipment repairs needed in complex.
- Assists with the development and enforcement of policy & procedures, & work standards. Ensures that university departmental rules are followed (regarding dress code, leave, authorized breaks, work hours, and sanitation). Communicates to others: rules, policies, procedures, & standards of the department and the university, reviews leave requests.
- Other duties assigned but not limited to: Replaces and recycles light bulbs per University standards. Assists with setups for banquets and special events including but not limited to moving furniture, equipment, and setting up stages. Monitors and reports all unusual conditions that arise throughout the complex. Coordinator of Physical Plant and other through hand-held radio. Hand-held radio must be worn at all times.
- Coordinates and performs the recycling program and hazardous waste. Maintains MSDS & Hazardous Materials management Program. Disposes trash in dumpsters. Collects and coordinates the collecting of recyclable products (plastics, glass, aluminum) from the recycling bins in the Oglesby Union. Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalency and two years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years. (Note: Relevant training may substitute at an equivalent rate.)
- Ability to train and supervise employees.
- Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.
- Ability to effectively train and direct the work of others.
- Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Ability to effectively train and direct the work of others.
- Ability to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of this position to include: good manual dexterity, periodic repeated movement, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, lift at least 16 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods of time, including the climbing and descending of stairs.
- A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain prior hire.
This position is Monday through Friday 4pm - 12:30am

The minimum hiring salary for this position is $36,250.00 commensurate with experience and education.
