The Facilities Supervisor is responsible to lead the group that ensures the efficiency and operational reliability of the FDBU plant. This involves the day-to-day activity of effective Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance practices for the Clean Utilities, Dirty Utilities, HVAC, Electrical and Building grounds. This role will assist with the coordination, direction, scheduling, priorities of any and all daily maintenance assigned to a responsible craft. Additionally, this role will support and perform equipment troubleshooting and repairs, plus Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance work as well. Modify equipment and/or systems to work properly and more efficient. Support the Utility Systems Team -Senior Manager in planning and scheduling work as required.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Schedule, guide, coordinate, direct, support outside service providers / vendors in any of the Craft Teams. Delegate this activity to the Craft Teams as the business requires, as needed to support the business, as directed by the Utility Systems Team -Senior Manager.
- General role will be to advance repairs/troubleshooting/preventative maintenance to all plant equipment and systems that is not limited to: HVAC units, electrical gear, fire water and alarm systems, waste, chemical treatment, pumps, valves, agitators, fans, bearings, couplings, belt drives, mechanical seals, hoists, hydraulics, pneumatics, on-off actuators, diaphragms, filters, fasteners, and any other special process equipment
- Support the issuance of any hot work and confined space entry permits; assume hot work and confined space entry supervisory roles and responsibilities
- Support analysis of equipment breakdowns (failure analysis) to determine root cause and make recommendations to eliminate future breakdowns
- Participate on FEMA teams and other process improvement teams as required (root cause analysis)
- Gain access to Trackwise to assist the facility team with opening, tracking and reviewing PR’s and CAPA’s.
- Support project engineering with design/installation/validation of new plant systems not to exclude facility/process/lab/utility systems
- Assume a lead or support role for the Utility Team maintenance function on small, medium and large projects that may include coordination, tracking, reporting updates, meetings etc.
- Have and develop advanced knowledge of plant equipment/systems; able to operate components and complete systems without assistance
- Develop and formulate written instructions for preventive maintenance tasks and SOPs including charts, graphs, data records in final document format, using word, excel and other document generation packages/databases as necessary
- Assist facility coordination with planning equipment/system shutdowns for maintenance
- Recommend and implement system modifications/upgrades to improve system efficiency/performance/safety
- Locate spare parts as necessary, make recommendations for inventory stock levels
- Document all work on work orders
- Be able to support the plant operations during off-hours if needed
- Support cGMP standards as required
- Adhere to all safety requirements and follow safe procedures, immediately notifying management or Safety when unsafe conditions or potential hazards are found; attend all required safety and health training, including handling hazardous waste, when necessary.
- Analyze daily work schedules for mechanics assigned to his/her area to provide necessary coordination of work
- Assist in coordination, improvements and setup of CMMS for spare parts, equipment information, PM tasks, planning, and scheduling
- Conduct routine safety meetings to maintain a high degree of safety awareness
- Provide counseling and coaching to improve safety attitudes and lower accident potential
- Maintain the morale of all personnel working in his/her area and others within the department.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
- 15 years of industrial/mechanical/ electrical experience
- 3-5 years of prior supervisory experience with trade and craft personnel
- License in any mechanical, piping, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems trade
- Multi operational knowledge of mechanical / HVAC, electrical systems
