High Point University invites applications for a full-time staff position as Facility Manager / Event Supervisor, Hayworth Fine Arts Center. This position manages the Hayworth Fine Arts Center and the Pauline Theatre, including technical support for university events. The selected candidate will ensure operation and maintenance of the physical building and all theatrical and production elements (lighting, sound, video, rigging, risers, seating, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Minimum BA or BFA with emphasis in Theatre Technology / Technical Theatre or equivalent combination of education and experience (see below) required
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years' experience in professional theatre or A/V related field, or 5 years' experience in professional theatre or A/V related field in at least two disciplines (lighting, sound, video, rigging, stagehand/road crew, etc.) required.
- Previous employment in Higher Education preferred.
- Experience with operating video switching and computer equipment required.
- Experience and understanding of moving lights, lighting consoles, digital sound consoles, and DMX programming required.
- Experience working with venue scheduling software, calendar management, and event timelines/riders preferred.
SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of ETC lighting consoles, Yamaha sound consoles, and basic video switching.
- Proficient use of both PC and Mac computers.
- Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and theatrical safety rules and requirements.
- Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to work independently to achieve goals and tasks.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides technical support for university events that take place in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center, such as lighting, sound, projections, rigging, and setup of risers or seating. Events include, but are not limited to: Student-run events, University sponsored events, admissions events, etc.
- Periodically inspects and maintains all equipment in the facility, ensuring that all equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Reports maintenance requests regarding the facility that can be fulfilled by Campus Enhancement.
- Works to establish complete, yearly calendar of events that are scheduled in the Pauline Theatre in conjunction with the University Events department, Office of Communications, Student Life, Admissions, and School of Arts & Design. Aids in fulfilling reservation requests and working with clients on technical needs through 25Live for use of the Pauline Theatre.
- Works in conjunction with the Lighting and Sound Supervisor and front of house manager from Department of Theatre and Dance to ensure that all events in Hayworth Fine Arts Center are properly staffed.
- Ability to work with students during work calls and productions as required.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including night and weekend hours.
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
