Summary & Objectives:
MKS Instruments is seeking a Facilities Specialist to join the team in Rochester NY. The Facilities Specialist will contribute as a key member of the Facilities, EHS, and operations teams. In this position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility’s structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical and HVAC
- Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures
- Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process
- Makes periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary
- Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches
- Travel Requirements: Up to 50% of Travel may be required in the local area
Knowledge & Skills & Competencies:
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required.
- Requires experience in the maintenance trades, formal apprenticeship or on-the-job training, a working knowledge of shop math, the ability to read and write and utilize tools and measuring instruments
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, problem-solving skills are highly preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $25-29 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
